sure what kind of squash it is because it is still on the small size yet. We know it is not zucchini, kinda looks like spaghetti squash. We'll know more in the coming days as the squash gets bigger. We are in a serious drought and have to water our huge garden everyday. Raccoons are pulling up plants looking grub's. Rain is forecast for tomorrow, fingers crossed 🤞.

How exciting! Yes, that is the one: it does look like spaghetti squash but it's not. It is one of the most delicious squashes I have ever grown, although I also love spaghetti squash. I'm way behind you because of the drought here, too. I have had to dig up all beds and dig in more organic material to hold the water. Believe me, this will slow your garden down but it will save time in the end.

My little watermelon plant has only a few leaves. I planted it late, though.

Those raccoons really caused some damage. Sickening. This will work, though: Bonide Repels-All Animal Repellent, 32 oz

I only paid around $13 at Amazon and it has a high quality sprayer. I've tested it and it works. I go out and spray every Monday.

the animal repellent spray. I will have to order some. I hope it will work on squirrels too. Every year squirrels eat my sweet corn.

Wife asks, do you fry, bake or stew the mystery squash? The spaghetti squash my wife likes eating it with parmesan cheese and a touch of butter after baking or microwaving it.

8. the best recipe I have

for it came from my garden partner, Rosa, who sadly passed away of brain cancer at Christmas. Let me look in my files for it. It was very simple but wow, was it ever good.

I'll get back to you.

I think that stuff will work on squirrels, too. It's amazing. I also bought the granular version, a big bag of it. I poured some down the groundhog hole under the greenhouse-- and it made the greenhouse smell so bad for a week that I didn't want to work in there!

And maybe when WinCo gets more buckwheat in, I'll get some then, too.
