I've been wanting to try it and just haven't yet.
The turkey kielbasa sounds interesting too. I've stopped eating pork and have tried the turkey Italian sausage, but not the kielbasa, yet.

Nothing worse than being laid up. Glad you are up and around again.

Tonight's menu: shrimp scampi, arborio rice with minced veg, a huge salad with perfect tomatoes and a prime avocado, grated carrot, farm stand Egyptian onion, and purple leaf lettuce with Dijon-honey-lemon vinaigrette, and a lovely crusty loaf of Bastone Italian bread. No leftovers!

You are thoroughly enjoying the fresh vegetables of the season, I see!

I picked six heirlooms tomatoes today!

Went out tonight with a friend since it was my birf'day. We had a great time at a 1700s style tavern. I had a buffalo chicken pizza. I also had two other "meals" with friends today (Happy Hour, that's a meal, right?) and tomorrow when my husband gets home, yet another!

I love grazing through cocktails. Just the mention of your heirloom tomatoes makes my mouth water. Keep celebrating and have the best year ever!

Our local grocer shut down to remodel and we shopped at a store down the road--more expensive, but this avocado was worth it! Get on that craving, girl! They are good for you!

i made a batch of chili last night, just finished a bowl and it is spicy! i used fresh jalapeno in this batch but didn't think about that as i dumped in the can of habenero rotel tomatoes and a big palmful of a local chili seasoning mix. damn tasty, tho.

The spicy chili sounds really yummy.
I'll have to look for the habanero rotel! We use the regular a LOT and I've never tried the habanero.

Our veggie garden is going full blast right now so maybe twice a week we make meals from everything from the garden. I'm overrun with butternut squash so I made Butternut Squash Soup and, believe it or not, Butternut Squash Pie (my own recipe) and it was good!

I made up a relish tray with fresh Armenian Cucumbers, Anaheim and Banana Peppers and Sweet 100 Cherry Tomatoes. Thew in some olives and pickles for good measure.

I also cooked up some green beans from the garden with a little bacon thrown in.

Basic stuff really but it cost virtually nothing.

I'm going to do that when my garden kicks into full blast. I like the challenge of doing something new with vegetables, anyway.
