What's for Dinner, Tues., Feb. 7, 2023

I burned my left hand so I'm not doin' nuttin' for dinner tonight. Maybe I'll pick up some takeout when I go out shortly.

I had intended to stop at a favorite bakery in another town but it's changed over to being a doughnut place. Might still check it out.

However, there is also a Japanese noodle place, so I think I'll stop there. Will post back if it's anything interesting.

In the meantime, ow, but I'll be ok 'cuz I just took some aspirin and sprayed it and put a Band-aid on it.

In the meantime, don't be a dummy like me and grab your warmed up coffee out of the micro when you've warmed it 2".

4. Chicken thighs and pasta with pesto alfredo sauce

Chicken thighs in the air fryer, whipped together the sauce with butter, onion, flour, a splash of white wine, pesto, parmesan cheese, milk, and some pan drippings. Orecchiette pasta as a change from my usual farfalle.

It was a very late lunch and I will have the rest for a late dinner.

5. Pastrami Sandwich....yippee

There are 2 kinds of Pastrami available at my grocery store. One is very fatty and the other is very $$$. Today the very lean one was on sale @ $6.99 a pound. Have not had a Pastrami sandwich for ages because of the price.
Half pound is now simmering and I will have a feast.

Simple things make me happy!

6. Rub aluminum foil lightly on your burn. It works!

Tonight we're having a toss salad and later chicken pot pies.

Seriously the foil will disperse the heat on your burn. You will notice immediate relief.

We just finished a late lunch at Cracker Barrel-- Ms K has an unfortunate attachment to their country ham-- so we're probably done for the day. I might have a midnight bowl of noodles later.

9. boneless pork chops
Tue Feb 7, 2023, 07:18 PM
Feb 2023

But I have no idea how I'll cook them. There are a LOT of them. I have no idea who put all of them in one package, but they had to be thawed together and now they all have to be cooked, which is a shame, because leftover boneless pork dries out when you re-heat it.

Since I don't know how I'm going to cook it, I also don't know what I'll have with it.

I know that there is ice cream and brownies for dessert.

Dad had fish filet sandwich, fries and green beans.

Cher, sorry to hear about your burn. OUCH!

14. Marinate the leftover pork before you cook it

that should help with the dryness. The adobo from a can of chipotles in adobo or a soy sauce/rice vinegar/ginger mix work well.
