Related: About this forumCoffee Coke....
I'm posting this here because I don't know where else I can post this.
I just learned that the Coca Cola company discontinued Coffee Coke. In my opinion - they pulled the plug on this product too soon. They didn't promote the product. No TV or magazine ads. It just showed up on the shelf with the other myriad of Coke products.
I was lucky that I came across it. I tried it and I was hooked. I shared my like for the product with other friends - and they too became buyers of the product.
Lately it disappeared from the shelves. I googled it - and learned that the Coca Cola company discontinued it.
Again - I believe Coca Cola marketing didn't give the product a chance to catch on. They pulled it too soon. They didn't promote the product.
There are many other coffee drink products on the market. If you go to a grocery store - they even have a special section for those coffee drink products.
Coca Cola marketing should have been aware of this and made sure that their Coffee Coke product was placed in that section of the store versus in the section with all the other Coke products. Or an alternative was to have it in both sections - the coffee drink section and the Coke section.
The other thing I would do is initially bring out only one flavor of the Coffee Coke. I would have gone with the Dark Coffee Coke. Once that caught on - then introduce other flavors.
Bottom line I believe that the Coca Cola Marketing Department blew it on the introduction of the product and the reason its gone now is because they failed to make the public aware of it.
I don't think it's too late to recover. If they do a proper marketing campaign and promote it - it would be a success. They need to reconsider their decision to pull the product.
I'm hoping that this message somehow gets to the people at Coca Cola - especially the Marketing Department.
They are missing out on this one.

(22,767 posts)or in media outlets you normally peruse. They're usually pretty laser focused on where they promote items. All companies are.
Personally, I wouldn't be interested in drinking any Coke products at the moment:

(14,176 posts)but the vanilla and mocha (I think those were the other two) sucked. I got it initially because it was on sale cheap at the supermarket even though I don't really drink sodas with sugar, but I guess I was lucky because I didn't pick up one of the other flavors (that happened later)
Pepsi test marketed a similar product in Philadelphia maybe 20 years ago, Pepsi Kona, that I liked a lot but I guess the test marketing didn't convince them that it was worth doing a huge production run with national distribution.

(48,126 posts)I love making copy cat recipes.
Google your favorite chain restaurant food or drink and see how to make it at home.
I do it all the time.

(48,126 posts)I love copy cat recipes.
I make exact replicas of:
KFC wings
Chipolte barbacoa
Starbucks iced mocha frozen frappuchino.
Sometimes you have to experiment around a bit to get it just right.
Some of the recipes are corporate secrets and people have reversed engineered them.
But that is the fun of it.
I love coke and received a soda machine for Christmas.
I am trying to see if I can copy cat a real coke.
But coke seems to be hiding their recipe from me.
But your recipe just uses a regular coke and coffee.
I love coke and I love coffee but the thought of combining them sends me in a tizzy.
Good luck, don't worry if your drink is being taken off the market, you can make it at home
easier and cheaper.
