Salmon with bourbon glaze. I made two pieces the other night, so this will be the last of it.
Couscous with cilantro pesto and toasted pignolis.
Cucumber salad. This is an old favorite which I have made many times. It has ginger root, garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil, red onion, and rice vinegar. I like to add in toasted peanuts.
French roast decaf for dessert, along with banana pudding over a toasted buttermilk waffle.

(17,516 posts)It is a work night for TJ and I'm not inclined to cook.
I've yet to choose which leftovers. As far as I know there is lasagna, garden salad, and beef stir fry with rice. There may be other things I'll spot.
I bought some Cara Cara Navel Oranges on sale and they are quite good, so one of them and some sweet cheese after.

(17,516 posts)Kroger with a $2 off digital coupon from their website.
I remember when $1 per pound would be outrageous and it was not very long ago.
I keep reading about great deals from Kroger on here, wish we had one!

(17,516 posts)other items are more expensive than at Walmart of Food Lion. Some of the deals have requirements to buy a quantity of miscellaneous items or a minimum dollar amount for other purchases.
It is often difficult to actually get the savings because of the convoluted rules, especially for a pickup order where often items are "not available."

(24,375 posts)in a pot of her home made sauerkraut. I took some of the pork and shredded it and put BBQ sauce on it and made a sandwich. All I can say is if you are ever going to make BBQ pulled pork, cook the pork in sauerkraut first. It adds a whole other dimension to the flavor.

(38,611 posts)I've never made one before. This was part of a care package we got a few months ago.
Apparently it's a "sirloin" cut that goes into a very hot oven for a few minutes, and then should cook slowly (on low heat) until it comes to temperature. That's what I'll be trying.
Mashed potatoes and gravy
carrots and broccoli
ice cream for dessert

(22,767 posts)Just heated up more soup for the husband. I was munching on some almonds earlier, so not hungry at the moment. I might be later.
Chilly day, so I've had three mochas today, along with my water.

Then, because the drive back to the Midwest takes so long, you stay overnight and I'll fix you some blueberry pancakes in the morning!

(4,671 posts)Made it quick when I got home from visiting my parents.
I had one last jalapeño braut left so chopped and used that. A little diced onion and red bell pepper in the butter and braut fat before adding the flour. A shake of cayenne, too. Milk, a small squirt of mustard, cheddar and parmesan cheeses. It was tasty and perfectly spicy through all that dairy.
A huge chocolate bar for dessert. Planning on not eating the whole thing but... shit happens. Well see how it goes.
Definitely getting more jalapeño brauts at the grocery store this week!
