No time to cook today, so I jazzed up my turkey wild rice soup with more shiitake. Caramelized onion mixed into the top of the soup.
That and a mini-loaf of cornbread with red pepper and cubed Cheddar will complete the meal.
Blackberries over shortbread with a little whipped cream for dessert. Hot ginger tea.

I have unagi and maguro thawed. The rice is in the cooker right now. I use Cal Rose rice and vinegar it. It's just the two of us so I hesitate to thaw any greater variety of toppings for one dinner.

(92 posts)this evening worked on perfecting Hot and Sour soup - used beef broth, portabello shrooms, tofu, bamboo shoots hirachi sauce, soy sauce, white vinegar, sesame oil, garlic, pepper and corn starch slurry to finish - taste was fair but seems to be missing something - any suggestions?
