(9,789 posts)I save the chicken bones from the grill in a different bag, they give a nice smokiness to the broth. My Instant Pot gets quite a workout at times it make making broth so much easier.

(13,934 posts)I boil the bones for about 15 min and skim off the "junk". While waiting for the bones to cool I make a mix of 2 parts Onion, one part carrott, one part celery. I also put in a load of garlic, bay leave and tumeric. I wack the bones to expose the marrow and put them back in the pot and cook with the veg in my pressure cooker.. That is my base for a load of stuff...

(111,397 posts)to allow the marrow to flavor the broth. It gives a more intense flavor.. Saute a little mirepois, throw in the bones, cover with water, and you're all set for cold and flu season.

(111,397 posts)but garlic is something that can be crushed to a paste and cooked in the broth later. I especially like garlicky chicken soup when I have a cold, it's one of the few things I can taste.
