What's for Dinner, Friday, Oct. 7, 2022

Broccoli rabe, tubettini, and chicken sausages.

I’m going to make this sort of like a soup.

Lots of Parmesan and garlic.

New type of kombucha: lemon ginger.

Vanilla nut decaf and a new kind of toffee I bought at Trader Joe’s.

As much tea I drink, I should be British. ☕ The evening tea is Yorkshire Bedtime Brew-Ingredients
Decaffeinated Black Tea*, Lemon Balm, Lemongrass, Nutmeg (3%), Natural Vanilla Flavouring (2%), *Rainforest Alliance Certified™.

After a careful look in the cupboard, I'm making a scrambled eggs and bacon wrap. No recipes required.

Waiting is not an option when they cost anywhere from $1.10 - 1.50 each, sometimes more but I draw the line at $1.50. I have some Cesar salad left to use, I got a mix-it-yourself bag a couple days ago that I have been mixing as I go. I should finish that and some naan bread, plain humus. Surely I can figure out how to work with that. A small apple for desert.

That works, whew.

Took plants out of the garden yesterday afternoon
Harvested baby lettuces and most of my red Swiss chard. It is supposed to snow by the time we get back from Scotland and also had a sunny day.

I used triscuits as my croutons and was yummy. Mozzarella instead of parm. Cleaning out the frig for an extended time away.

sliced on a salad of pico de gallo ingredients chopped pretty large, over a bit of greens to bulk it out slightly. Some refried beans left over from dinner out the other day. Easy, fast, especially since the steak was my husband's job. Pico de gallo itself is one of the things I'd choose to be marooned on a desert island with.

tamarind glazed chicken, curried cauliflower, and a not too bad attempt at dal makhani. And lots of leftovers, frozen, which will be making their re-appearance over the next few weeks.
