What's for Dinner, Sat., Oct. 1, 2022

I'm doing another sheet pan dinner tonight: Cauliflower, Potatoes and Caramelized Onions. Also chicken sausages from WF. Lotsa' garlic. Thyme and parsley.

Tossed green salad with French dressing and Chinese noodle crunchies. Just picked a fresh cuke and some scallions for the salad, too.

Lemon berry kombucha.

Dessert: welllll, I am trying to make a sugar-free chocolate zucchini loaf but I can't find my cocoa. Hope it occurs to me where it is.

The Art of French Cooking by Julia Child. My first try.

The ingredients cost $30 at least and that includes 3 lbs of chuck stew meat reduced from $6.99 to $4.99 a pound.

Will report back.

...because of the hurricane, we had to evacuate. Power was out, so had to toss everything in the fridge (scallops!).

We just got back, power is on, and we ordered a veggie pizza, but the house and boat are ok, all the people and dogs are ok, and we are very happy with the pizza!

Oh..and the wine was not affected by the hurricane, so we're having a great cab that cost twice the price of the pizza!!

Can't wait to get back to cooking.

topped with bacon. Kroger had a digital coupon for the asparagus, brought it down to an affordable, normal price. I had an unopened pack of bacon that had a use by date of 9/26, so I cooked the whole package today. Tastes, smells, feels okay. Thinking creatively to use it up.

And a bowl of leftover curried chicken vegetable soup and crackers.

Adjusting it slightly from my grandmother's recipe (left the corn, lima beans, and noodles out, added zucchini and a green bell pepper). Served it with pumpernickel rolls. Two of the four of us are getting over covid (I'm on day 14, Hubby is on day 3) so the soup will be good and go far. I lost my sense of taste so had our daughter be my taste tester and seasoning adjuster.
