My friend took me out to a new Asian restaurant. Just arrived home; here's what we had:
Spicy Seafood Salad: Kani, Shrimp, Octopus, Masago, Seaweed, Scallion w. Spicy Sauce, Crunchy on Top
Hibachi Fried Rice with Shrimp
We each had a Bento Box. She had shrimp and I had glazed salmon.
For dessert I had tempura bananas with vanilla ice cream and green tea.
Was really fun. The restaurant is spacious, comfortable, and most important: the food is good and the AC works great!!
If I get hungry later tonight, I have a cold fruit soup I made yesterday. It has pineapple, peach, and kiwi in it.

(9,971 posts)I'm meeting my friend at a Mexican place between our homes.
We ate there a month ago and the food was great. I had their arroz con pollo which had a real Veracruz flair. Something different tonight.

I had to drive into town today to buy diesel fuel for my small tractor. Wife asked me to stop at Arby's and pick up some roast beef sandwiches. They still have two for six bucks sale going on. So I surprised her and bought six sandwiches. I called our neighbor down the road and her and her husband came over and we all ate a roast beef sandwich and my wife's homemade coleslaw outside at the picnic table by the pond. I still have two roast beef sandwiches in the fridge for when I get the Munchies later on.

(20,870 posts)I gave up cooking.
Widows don't need to cook no 'mo!
So, I'll have me a phony chicken sandwich made by Boca Burgers. I make it to look just like the picture on the box with pickles, purple onions, lettuce, mayo, bun and a Boca Chicken burger.
If you've never tried one you really should as they really are quite good!

(20,870 posts)Even my late husband liked them and he was not into vegetarian food very much.
I'd say, "How about a phony chicken sandwich?". He'd nod and wolf it right down.
Make it like the picture on the box.

(22,767 posts)burger with extra sharp cheddar, garden tomatoes and dill pickle slices with crinkle fries. I'm not hungry at the moment, but may eat later.
I also made new batch of THC infused chocolates for him.

(1,706 posts)The guys couldn't get the ready-made gyro meat at the store, so my son cooked some ground lamb and beef with garlic, salt and pepper. We had that in pitas with tzatziki sauce, cucumbers and tomatoes. Messy but good! Also had roasted new potatoes and leftover green beans.

I sauted a couple boneless pork loin chops in olive oil, pepper and garlic.
I made a vegetable stir fry with zucchini, yellow squash, sweet red pepper, corn cut off the cob, onion and green onion.
For dessert. I made a half recipe of peanut butter cookies, using my grandmother's recipe. Haven't made them for years. Good, but not like hers I'll share with my grandkids.

(5,659 posts)Mr AK mentioned halibut cheeks yesterday so I think we will pick some up when we go out for a cocktail soon. I had time to harvest in the garden so I will be making all the sides. Wilted lettuce and Swiss char salad with fresh shelled peas, onion and a fingerling zuke and a bacon vinaigrette to wilt. Topped with parm probably. Also will par boil a potato and bake some fries in the glacier garlic salt I just bought at the spice store.
Harvested a large container of raspberries and have already made a razz sorbet which is chillin out in the freezer. Also made razz simple syrup.

(68,576 posts)Cheese and pepperoni...added spinach too. Watermelon for dessert and diet rite cola for my beverage...This was the gluten-free Pizza. It was good. I was too tired to go to upper crust which has the best gluten-free pizza in my area of Ohio IMHO.
