I am always shredding or slicing something and got tired of doing both on the box shredder. So I came across these attachments for my Kitchen Aid. I must tell you that the attachment work great. As you can see the carrots grate wonderful, and the zucchini slices are wonderful. In addition to what I've mentioned, I've also grated cheese and cold butter for making scones.
Unfortunately my mandolin wasn't working real great anymore (dull glad and couldn't sharpen) and I was starting to research mandolins when I came across these attachments.
Frankly, clean up is not worse than a box shredder or a mandolin. So far I'm really happy with the attachments. And anything I shred, slice, etc. works really fast, an added bonus.
Just as an aside. The zucchini salad is just sliced zucchini, drizzle some good olive oil (I used stuff I bought in France in April), and fresh lemon juice and top with julienne basil and a little salt and pepper. Excellent!

(24,292 posts)for our Kitchen Aid. Just got it recently. Also the pasta maker and meat grinder. They all get used a lot.
These mixers are expensive, but very durable. We've had ours over 20 years and it still works like new.

(14,889 posts)I have that too. Makes great pasta. Next time I make lasagna I'll make homemade noodles. Just cut them to size.
Kitchen Aids are expensive machines, but I am really lucky. My brother won one and gave it to me. I definitely make good use out of it.
Now I'm eyeing up the ice cream maker attachment!

(24,292 posts)To find them in a store, look anywhere they sell the Kitchen Aid mixers. They usually have the attachments also.
