i am starting a yelling party thread

because you have to have a yelling party from time to time. my husband and/or i have them in the car. my dad, sister and i have them a lot when i go over for dinner. yelling parties really are fantastic.

Which is why I'm going back to school. Trucking is just a tough profession all the way around, but it seems like the drivers are the ones taking the brunt of the suckage.

I had to wait a damn year before I could get insurance there. Then when my anniversary came and went I didn't hear from them about it. I asked about it three times and my boss said it would be coming soon. He finally then actually asked somebody about it and it turned out that if he had not within the next day I would have had to wait another three months. Fucking bastards.

The shame is that that kind of thing isn't the exception in the trucking industry. Then they have the gonads to turn it around on the driver, blaming them for the high turnover rates. I shit you not, it is not uncommon for a carrier to have over a 100% turnover rate every year. To keep drivers you have to pay them well and treat them right. It's that easy, but they think it's some big mystery.

Fuck that. I've been doing this for 15 years, but I'm done with it as soon as possible. When I started driving an old driver said to me that he's been doing this for 40 years and every day it gets worse. I didn't believe him then, but I do now.

mental health and substance abuse are hard enough alone, but co-occurring disorders can be exponentially worse and completely devastating. i can't imagine insurance companies being all that wonderful in that arena, either.

Anorexia is extremely painful to deal with. You end up harming those you love the most by harming yourself. There was a time when I myself was mildly anorexic which is ironic considering I've been overweight most of my life. I got into a weight loss thing that became an obsession and I ended up 135 lbs (I'm a 6'1 guy). Somehow I had managed to turn it around and instead of eating when depressed I didn't eat. I've always had self hatred issues, though this was more a protest over being forced to do things I didn't want to do at the time. But the self hatred made it easy to do. I can't explain why I hated myself, and still have issues with it. Well, I mean I can explain WHY, I know the factual reasons why I do but for anyone else they wouldn't add up to hating ones self. I guess that's what the underlying depression and anxiety has done, helped to colour and twist other emotional issues into something that much worse.

I'm sorry I can offer nothing more than sympathy. I hope for the very best for your daughter! It seems like so pathetically little when we are at rock bottom but sadly it's all anyone can usually offer another.

i have found that taking care of others helps me feel better, but it's hard to not take their pain on as your own. don't know how your family works, but in mine, we got out to eat and have a frank discussion about things. do little things for him and let him know you love him.

I think I'll be OK. My emotions have been up and down more since my father got back but I'm still coping. My long walks around the city have been helping quite a lot. They are meditative, help to shut my brain off. I can combine my photography with the walks as well. And the physical exhaustion is helping me sleep at night. Win win. I just need to deal with the time in between a little better.
