Muscle Shoals is a great documentary
A friend at work told me about it. It was a little disorganized in the beginning but gets better towards the middle. Some great info on little known history.
Who knows what is special about Muscle Shoals without using Google?

(60,349 posts)It's about the recording musicians, the band behind the bands.

(3,655 posts)It is surprising the number of artists that recorded there. I laughed at the part where the AA musicians went out with the white guys playing backup but Duane Allman couldn't go with because he was a long hair hippie. Another good part is where the one backup guy was talking about how professional and serious everyone was "no one was drinking or taking drugs". Keith Richards had a different recollection "say what?"

Plus, saw the documentary, and yes, it is really good.
When I was in Muscle Shoals, back in '93, I was amazed that a little old building that looked like an old shoe store or something, could be so famous.
That's a Southern thing....a lot of times the outside is deceiving.

(3,655 posts)I got a kick out of Jagger and his white suit/red berret and scarf. Also seldom seen footage of Skynyrd.
