"The Days" on Netflix
The Days is a series based on the real-life events that occurred as a result of the Tohoku earthquake and tsunami hitting the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant in 2011. Waves from the powerful tsunami smashed through the power plant's protective walls and damaged its emergency diesel generators.
This series was made in Japan, and the English is dubbed, but that doesn't detract from it.
I didn't realize just how harrowing this whole event was for the power plant workers and the Japanese people. It's sobering to watch and to contemplate.
Highly recommended.
