I watched the first season of "Get Shorty" on Amazon Prime Video
It's really good, especially if, like me, you love to see stories about the film industry. It follows a mob henchman (Chris O'Dowd) who works for a mob boss/casino owner (Lidia Porto) in Pahrump, NV, but wants to get his estranged family back by going legit as a movie producer after reading the bloodstained script of one of his victims. He hooks up with a washed-out producer (Ray Romano) and extorts a big studio to take on the project. The series is very funny, very well-written and, like all mob stories, pretty violent. At the end of season 1, I was delighted to see that two more seasons were available but I would have to subscribe ($$) to MGM+ to see them. Well I pulled a fast one on Amazon: instead of subscribing, I ordered the DVD for season 2!
