Feminist: (noun) A person who believes in social, political and economic equality of the sexes.

(14,255 posts)That is a common (mis)understanding of "feminist", these days. It is a view pushed by the likes of Faux and Limbaugh, etc., but that is what is out there. I am sure that if you showed them that definition and asked them again, they would agree that they are for equal opportunity.
