Excellent point. I've worked in those areas and HR used to explicitly state in writing you had RKP5637 May 2019 #5

I have a family friend who is a radiography tech at a hospital who is gay, glowing reviews and no disciplinary issues, but fired about a week after a new manager comes in, saying he isn’t a “good fit”.

been fired outright for such outlandish and ignorant behavior. Some places just do not put up with stupid bigoted personnel.

really no rights as an employee because it was an "at will" state.

In an at-will state an employee can be fired because the boss doesn't like his neckties, but not because he's black. But since there's no federal law protecting LGBT employees, they have to rely on state laws. And some states' laws don't protect those employees even if they protect racial minorities.

I also that a landlord can deny a rental to someone who is gay. PA is not always the compassionate state some people from the faith communities pretend it to be.

I'm in Missouri, my employer has its own non-discrimination policy. Of course, they can still fire you for being gay, and just say it is for something else.
