Chelsea Handler Still Thinks It's OK to Make Gay Jokes About Republicans

Chelsea Handler has always skirted the line between irreverent humor and being actually, you know, offensive. Handler has long been criticized for the way she talks about race, gender and sexuality and it seems that she isn't stopping anytime soon.

If you’re wondering why Republicans took a sick day today, it’s probably because it’s #NationalComingOutDay. Looking at you @LindseyGrahamSC

When is Handler going to realize that suggesting that someone is gay as a way to mock them isn't subversive humor, it's literally just homophobia? By mocking Lindsey Graham for allegedly being a closeted gay man, you're implying that being gay is mockable. And to make this kind of "joke" on Coming Out Day, to actually use Coming Out Day as the joke proves that you're not an ally, you're just an asshole.

The author is CORRECT but it sadly reflects a common problem from those who claim to be allies and even members of our own community. Though I don't think she is an asshole as the author opines, I do wish more allies would WAKE THE FUCK UP! But that's just me (and apparently the author).

I agree wholeheartedly. One such discussion I've had a person referred to Ann Coulter as Mann Coulter. As a transgender woman these types of name calling can be hurtful. I also disagree with Ann, but calling her a transgender person as an insult really insults all of us.

My two cents anyway.

and I never thought she was funny. I have friends who do, they are much younger and I have explained my feelings about what she has said but they just get all worked up about me not understanding. Whatever, I think she is not funny at all.
