My father's partner just told me a Thanksgiving story I hadn't heard before.

They lived together for more than twenty years in a small town in a blue state, where they didn't run into trouble, but some people didn't quite know what to make of them: Dad, older and phosphorescent white; his partner, younger and black.

The funniest time was when a lady kept eyeing them as they wandered around a grocery store before Thanksgiving with two carts and their lists. She finally stopped them and said, "You're detectives, aren't you. Are you on a mission?"

Yeah, just like Foley and Rosewood.

I'm not familiar with Foley and Rosewood, but that doesn't make it any less funny!

Hope you have a great Thanksgiving!

Because why else would two guys of different races be together?

I'm a 70 year old white guy, and in 1969 I was living with my black 'roommate'.
