The ongoing reaction to the protest...
shows there is a great deal of baggage yet to be dealt with here on DU. It doesn't matter to me that Michelle Obama doesn't hold political office, she is still a public figure and is campaigning for issues.
I am glad that there are people willing to make themselves heard on my behalf in a manner I am not capable of doing. If we wait until the "Proper" time we will never get heard.
On edit: Just read WillPitt's post on the shoe thrower. I don't agree with him sometimes, but he hit the nail on the head. Also some ugly, ugly stuff going on. Damn those uppitty LGBTQI people. Why don't they accept their place?
