Part One
Captain James T. Kirk's nephew, Ensign Peter S. Kirk, has just made crew on the USS Enterprise. Peter simply wants to be closer to his boyfriend/fiancé, Lt. Alex Freeman, Medical Technician, as well as prove his own worth to his uncle. But life around the Enterprise (and deep space) is not so simple..
The acting isn't stellar, but the story is rather sweet.

(13,211 posts)They have released IIRC their 5th one hr episode. The production team works with a school that teaches CGI, they make no profits and have been granted full rights to use the characters, music and titles from the original TV show.
Listing of episodes and shorts.

(3,310 posts)Addictive, but then again I've always loved anything Star Trek.
I just found the entire DS9 on NetFlix. That's by far my favorite, slickest production and best characters IMHO. Voyager was the schlockiest, even schlockier than the original.
This is a neat storyline here. Where the heck did it come from and how did they get access to the sets?

James Cawley owns many original TV wardrobe items, he play Kirk. The sets, are not original, but painstakingly recreated. Yeah they do look like the originals, or very close.

(3,310 posts)and an excellent job at that. I was impressed with the level of detail. Yeah, the acting was a bit "less than" but I remember running home from school to watch the originals. The acting and creatures on the original were pretty darn hokey, too. It was part of the charm
Funny side story that has almost nothing to do with the OP. My partner and I had a Datsun 280ZX turbo 2+2. Gawd, we loved that car. It had voice alerts ("Left door is open.", "Right door is open." and so on). The voice sounded so much like Majel Barrett Roddenberry we called her "Maggie". We still get a bit misty-eyed missing that car and the adventures we had driving her. Every time we hear Majel's voice, we still think of Maggie.

(3,185 posts)I too love all things Star Trek.
I've been missing that opening music from DS9 for years. I wish DS9 would come to syndication. If nothing else I'd record that music.
