In a sermon blasting President Obama for his same-sex marriage support, Pastor Charles L. Worley of Providence Road Baptist Church in Maiden, North Carolina, offered a novel and horrific solution to the so-called gay scourge: build an electric fence and let "lesbians, queers and homosexuals" starve to death.
"I figured a way to get rid of all the lesbians and queers," he says in his sermon, delivered on May 13. "Build a great, big, large fence 150 or 100 mile long put all the lesbians in there... Do the same thing for the queers and the homosexuals and have that fence electrified so they can't get out
And you know what, in a few years, they'll die." Worley fails to understand that gay people are born, not made, and that there would just be more LGBT folk coming down the line.
He also that if he's asked who he'll vote for, he'll reply, "I'm not going to vote for a baby killer and a homosexual lover."

Glad to see the chairs behind him completely empty. Glad to see these people aren't that enthusiastic either.

(16,103 posts)Watched it this morning...definitely heard the congregation applauding! Doesn't matter, if even one agrees with his genocidal viewpoint, that's one too many!
And then to hear his defenders...people like this defended Hitler and the Nazis too!

(15,064 posts)The church is located in Maiden, NC. Another Baptist church in Charlotte has been falsely attacked for this bigoted preacher's rant. The Charlotte church is speaking out against this pastor in Maiden, NC. Just thought I should get that info out.

(2,307 posts)a different baptist church than the one with this minister is being attacked?
Attacked? How?
No, not all churches have the attitude of this one with the bigoted minister.

(26,181 posts)They had been getting some vicious attacks and really bad press, even though they are not affiliated with Worley in any way.

(38,187 posts)I think it was the actual church where that preacher preaches that someone tried to burn down.

The local protesters against that preacher have condemned the act though.
I hadn't heard of a church in Charlotte being attacked. I will check my local news tonight (ALL of our local news channels except one are based in Charlotte) and see if they say anything and post a link (if I can find it) here.
