Some Personal Weirdness (somewhat long)

Last edited Tue May 2, 2023, 05:33 PM - Edit history (1)

Could there be a template for humans? This story concerns a lookalike.

I had a friend, we can call her June, who lived in a large mansion. She put a lot of custom work into this house, such as cornices with hand-carved decoration that were attached very firmly to the walls. Large windows, very expensive cornice, if I remember correctly. The window was probably 4-5' x 8'.

She also had some urns custom made out of cement and then they had some type of glaze on them. Very pretty. Also other planters made of concrete with some sort of texture applied.

When it came time to move, she was behind schedule and asked the new owner for a few more days. The new owner told her no and consequently she had to leave a lot of these items behind.

At one time she asked me to watch the trash set out to see if the new owner (there have been two since she lived there) threw out any of these items. June still wanted them. It has been at least 9 years since she asked me this and as the loyal neighbor, I kept my eye out.

Today I noticed some cars pull up to this mansion and people began loading household items into the back of various cars and trucks. I got the impression the people were not together and tentatively concluded the owner had put a listing on Craigslist or Facebook Marketplace to get rid of "stuff." Painters and other workers have been coming and going, so I gather she is redecorating.

A silver-colored compact SUV was also there (June drives one) and by the time I looked, was loaded to the max. But what really interested me was what was in this SUV: the concrete urns and what looked to be the cornice with the carvings. The cornice had been wrapped in packing material, but some of it fell off so I could tell what it was. Other than the concerete urns, the rest of the stuff was in boxes or wrapped up in some kind of packing material.

Now here's the weird part. A woman came out of the house and went around to the back of the SUV to close the rear door. This person looked almost exactly like June: same height and size, same hair color, same, complexion, same funky weird clothes. Her walk was different, though.

She was then joined by three other women who were dressed in similarly offbeat clothes. They all helped the person who looked like June shut the door, which was quite difficult and required some juggling around. Then the June-lookalike got in the silver SUV and left.

At this point I concluded the person was a lookalike because the compact SUV said "Explorer" and June's is some kind of Japanese make. Also the gait and the girlfriends. June's girlfriends are from other parts of the country.

I think it's weird that a lookalike to June would show up to buy the items that June wanted back.

This is carrying this incident a bit far, but I have an overactive imagination, or so I've been told. I am starting to wonder if there are "types" out there. Kinda' like there are templates for human beings that not only look alike but have a particular set of interests and taste. I know it sounds like science fiction, but I've had several other situations where I've encountered this phenomenon.

In a similar vein, I've often thought that there are certain types of people, for instance jocks, nerds, musicians, hustlers, academics, etc. and their traits transcend other traits such as upbringing, geography, language, age, race, sex and economic status. People might have more in common than we might think. And maybe those shared traits are stronger than the more obvious differences we see in others.

In other words, if we look beyond obvious differences in people, we find there are a gazillion more similarities.

When it involves both a female and a male - I call them 'soul mates'.

I don't believe it's your 'overactive imagination' like you mentioned.

Hale is a small rural town in Michigan and our UPS and FedEx drivers tend to be the same person, especially the UPS guy. He is a doppelgänger for my SIL, height, weight, hair and eye color.
My daughters name is Molly, his wife’s name is Mary. Molly is a nickname her full legal name is Mary Lenore, my wife’s name and her favorite soap opera star’s name. Both families have 2 boys.

UPS Brad coaches and referees some sports games, SIL Matt umpires baseball games and referees soccer games. Both were Boy Scouts and love camping.

So NJCher, I truly believe it’s all template hokum our imagination gone crazy. JUST KIDDING!

I think it’s kinda wild that with literally infinite gene combinations, nature can fashion people that closely even before nurture is applied.
