Lebanese Rocket Attacks on Israel Began at 7 am, Continued into the Night

Eight rockets were fired at northern Israel by terrorists in Lebanon at 7 am Monday morning, sending hundreds of people racing for cover and kicking off a day of ongoing attacks from across the border.

--snip--

Hezbollah terrorists in Lebanon claimed responsibility for a second rocket attack on northern Israel at around 11 am, this one aimed at an IDF post on Mount Dov.

At around 3:30 pm once again Red Alert sirens were activated in northern Israel, this time in the community of Shtula, also along the border with Lebanon.

Six rockets were also fired from Lebanon towards northern Israel at around 5 pm, and another round of rocket fire was launched 5:40 pm. Red Alert rocket sirens were not triggered the first time since the projectiles were not headed towards populated areas, but at 5:40 pm the siren activated in the northern town of Shtula. A mortar shell was later located in an open area by security personnel.

I addressed one of your posts ?
I said and what about tomorrow .
The very fact that this post of yours has been ignored should show you
that we stand alone and always have done .
Not that I dont appreciate President Biden's attempts to level the playing field , with
the best of intensions ........I do greatly , he is on the right track only decades too late.
I sincerely hope that his support for a two State solution does not cost him as it has cost us
on the Israeli Left .

When you say we stand alone and always have, I am not sure whether you are referring to Israel's Left, Israel itself or the Jews.

All three are true. If I remember, the last time we exchanged posts, we talked about Bibi posing an existential threat to the survival of Israel. There is a huge gap between my positions and those of Israel's social democrats (yourself included, I suspect), but there is no one in Israel other than Bibi I would accuse of threatening Israel's survival. One of my most bitter resentments toward the American and European Left is that they are showing zero support for Israel's Left, unlike American right wingers who are 100% behind Bibi. This, IMO, was one of the biggest reasons why it was Bibi who got to to form the latest government and not Lapid. The things that "could have" been...

As far as the Jews in Israel and and in the diaspora, there is no distinction: we always stood alone. We are used to this, and we adjusted, for better or worse. What makes me fear for my life today, though, is quite different: what distresses me to no end is the normalization of antisemitism and the antisemitic activism taking place on a global scale. This leaves us with no place to run, a survival strategy, however flawed, that had sustained the nation in the past. The next Shoah, and it is coming, will be global. This fills me with dread I never felt before.

Sorry to dump all of this on you in response to your post, but I can't help addressing Israel politics, a two-state solution (which I believe is absolutely necessary for Israel's survival), America's role, or even the regional intra-Muslim rivalries tearing the Middle East apart as it has done for hundreds of years, without focusing on an even more devastating phenomenon: the active and coordinated campaign to normalize antisemitism across the globe.

Its been hell and not so sure anyone wants to hear from me ......but thanks anyhow .

When you say we stand alone and always have, I am not sure whether you are referring to Israel's Left, Israel itself or the Jews.

Israel itself , Israel proper within the green line ......Israel without the Wild West Bank and Gaza and the dreams of our religious fanatics backed by Bibi to make us Greater Israel from the river to the sea

One of my most bitter resentments toward the American and European Left is that they are showing zero support for Israel's Left,

They probably think we have ceased to exist ......but even after October 7th we keep going .
Ref : .........

Carrying the pain of loss on October 7, these families are pleading for peace
Against overwhelming calls for revenge in Israel following Hamas' assault, relatives of victims and hostages are among the loudest advocates for a full ceasefire and a new approach with the Palestinians.

Personally I think Lapid has a very good chance at forming the next Gov but dont quote me
Benny Gantz is a warrior and we needed him but he is not a politician and there is too much resentment
over the hostage situation for him to get the votes ......unless the IDF can bring them home without bombing them
or drowning them in sea water .
