That's what happens in war. It's sad, but ever thus.

Germany had children in 1942. So did Russia and France and Britain.

Recently there was an article that described living within Hamas missile range. The claim was that the missiles would often be timed for when the children were outside and waiting for school buses or on their way to school. All the kids (going to school those days) would be outside, vulnerable, and hear sirens to get to shelter. For years.

That kind of long-term psychological warfare can't be good for parents, either.

IDF estimates are that about 12% of Gazan rockets go astray and fail to cross the de facto border. That can't be good for Gazan children (or *their* parents ... esp. since they don't have the warning sirens).

But notice--as I heard about Palestinian oppression, I didn't hear about Palestinian oppression. (That's what I like about deverbal nouns in English, you move the subject or object of the underlying verb to spec-DP or whatever it is these days you lose any overt theta-role assignment. Is "Palestinian oppression" equal to "oppression of Palestinians" or "oppression by Palestinians." The difference must be expressed in some languages that I've studied.)

Hamas and Islamic Jihad, winning hearts and minds.

don't go back north. Saw a Palestinian girl talking about her "matyred" family members. I pray Hamas does not convince them to go back.
