North Korea confirms mystery woman is leader's wife

(Reuters) - North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has married, state media said on Wednesday, putting an end to speculation over the relationship with a woman seen at his side during a recent gala.

The announcement came just two weeks after Kim was seen at the performance accompanied by the woman, with rumors swirling as to whether she was his wife, lover or sister.

The state broadcaster named his wife as Ri Sol-ju.

4. Well, that was certainly rousing!

To me, it sounded a bit like Spanish music: it was in the minor key and moved along very well. A couple could almost do a Paso Doble to it.

Perhaps I'm being silly, but I still hope that Jong-un will end up improving the lives of his fellow North Koreans. He seems so far to be less of a nut case than his father.

5. He likes Disney and Winnie the Pooh, and he's so happy in his marriage that he's

trotting around with the Missus. He recently unloaded the Big Cheese in the military, which suggests that he's not a trifling fool.

He may be seeing the handwriting on the wall--China has basically been the NK babysitter, and I'm betting that they're getting sick of that shit. China has their own stuff to deal with, they likely are tiring of bailing NK out of famine and flood issues, and if NK was a bit more open to the world, they'd be able to stand on their own two feet on occasion. Years of paranoia have to be overcome, but it can be done--look at the Chancellor of Germany--Angela Merkel grew up on "the other side of the Wall" after all!
