(26,783 posts)...for someone to read "1st inspection" to mean "the darn thing blew up over a year ago and we're just now getting around to inspecting the darn thing" ?

(60,010 posts)to be fair, trying to get in close enough to see into the wreckage is a massive problem considering the radiation.
But..TEPCO has not done much to get the public on its side, has it?

Not really. This is unit #4 we're talking about. They've been through the building, done structural analysis (and put in additional supports and poured concrete), and they've removed large sections of the building (including right around/above the fuel pool). Of course this removal was almost immediately broadcast around the web as "Unit 4 has collapsed!!!!"
But..TEPCO has not done much to get the public on its side, has it?
Certainly not very effectively.
