2 Ford workers diagnosed with coronavirus die, UAW confirms

Rory Gamble, president of the UAW, sent out a letter addressed to union brothers and sisters "that two more of our members have fallen to the virus."

He extended "gratitude and concern for our members and all the brave men and women who are serving on the front lines of this crisis to keep all of us safe. We pray for your well being and safety," he wrote. "We continue to work tirelessly to protect our members and our communities during this global crisis ... We are in this together.

1. I know lots of places aren't doing the best, but looks like most are trying.

Times have sure changed. There are a whole lot of jobs that can be done from home nowadays and a lot of companies are supportive of workers staying at home even if that means no work. Plenty don’t offer sick leave but sounds like most places will at least keep your job for you. I know that’s not true for everyone especially real small business. And lots of place at least attempt to provide some sort of safety measures. In my younger days when I did physical work there was no such thing as sick leave. I never went to a work safety meeting till I was probably 30. I hope all that stimulus money goes to the people who really need it, though I know that’s not going to happen.

2. We let down our guard yesterday. We ordered groceries online.

The fella who came to our door was not wearing a mask. He reached over me to grab a bag in the car. I just texted to Door Dash. They will contact us tomorrow

Meanwhile we are finding it hard to sleep now. 😏

3. I've been out a couple times to get groceries

When I get them home I leave them in the bag for a few days. If I had someone bring stuff I think I’d make them set it down outside. I imagine the people that are doing those deliveries are temp help with no training whatsoever. One of those delivery outfits, a big one, is supposed to be going on strike.

4. I Have Been Using Door Dash for Restaurant Meal Deliveries But Didn't Know About Groceries

They leave the meals on my porch and there is no face to face interaction with the drivers. I've been spraying the bags with disinfectant but wonder if this is sufficient.
