Quote for the Day:

Most Americans believe they know what communism is, largely because it is an ideology based on a body of texts and revolving around specific ideas. In contrast, hardly anyone can explain what comprises fascism, mainly because all we really know about it is the regimes that arose under its banner. There are no extant texts, only a litany of dictatorships and atrocities. When we think of fascism, we think of Hitler and perhaps Mussolini, without understanding anything about the conditions that carried them to power.

So far tech is holding up or not sliding as much as others, but take a gander at eBay and Uber charts. Value funds are back to where they were 15 months ago. Bonds are in the dumpster. Precious metals flagging except for gold which is nothing to write home about. Crypto supposedly entering the hot time of year. Now look at the Middle East. And China, Alibaba in the dumpster again. Right wingers getting elected here and there. This is the kind of geopolitical environment that I think has potential to last 10-15 years. Think of 1966 to 1982. We think things were fine because of the Bicentennial and the Vietnam War ended, but how about the stagflation?

We are in for it. It's 14 years past 2009 after all. Products are shrinking, crop yields falling worldwide. Not sure what to think or do, but I'm ok having lightened up. Not enough, but still.
