and it's expected to be down 35% on an annualized basis, per MarketWatch's economists (median forecast). I'm not predicting the stock market is going to plunge unless it's way worse than expected, which I don't think it will be. Just that it will be an interesting report. I hope and pray someone won't misleadingly post that 17 million are collecting unemployment insurance benefits (continuing claims). No, that's just the traditional state programs. The total, including the federal Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA), was
31.8 million in last Thursday's report.
