You know what, for a shy introvert who never made friends ...

... Especially with other guys, I find it quite easy now. Start talking, find common interests, add in some humor, and I find I'm making friends and really enjoying myself.

Now women, going beyond friendship to another level. Still working on that one. What can I say? WIP.

From your motherly type pal. I wish you could find a nice woman to be involved with. However it is not always the panacea, its cracked up to be. It takes hard work and committment on both sides and even then sometimes someone ends up getting hurt.

Nice to see you around.

As for the next step, you'll get there.

I found out years ago that women aren't very interested in the painfully shy guy. I started having a lot more luck by introducing myself and adding "How do you do?" Be witty, but not a joke-teller; never laugh at your own witticisms. Be vocal but not loud. Be open-minded and accepting; avoid negativity. Always pick up the check, or at least buy a round for the table. You'll get there...

is probably the same stuff you've already heard, so I don't know how much help this will be.

1) If you've gotten comfortable talking to your male friends, then talk to women the same way you talk to them. You don't need to get fancy.
2) Act like you. Don't try to peacock it or to be what you think they want to see. Just be you, as much as nervousness will allow.
3) Keep your expectations on a realistic level. Not every woman is going to be interested in you, and the first one to catch your interest probably won't be The One. Expect a certain amount of misses before you get hits.

Beyond that there's no way to generalize, because every woman's going to have her different idea of what's important in a partner. You are some woman's idea of a good partner. Keep that idea in the front of your mind. Good luck.

If every contact you have with woman has you thinking of long term then that can be off putting, try to just have and give fun and see where it leads. Also work on your outward attractiveness, wear clothes that flatter, bathe, etc etc. Making an effort on your physical appearance will show in your confidence. I am always here for dating tips lol as its something i have a lot of experience in.
