The body of a woman was found on Saturday (6) in the Yanomami Indigenous territory, in Roraima, close to the mining area where eight bodies had been located in the same week. According to the Federal Police, the victim had signs of sexual violence.

The Federal Police says that there are indications that the woman, whose identity has not been revealed, was killed by hanging. It was seen during an overflight by the National Force in the Uxiu region.
The region is experiencing an escalation of violence, which has led sectors of the federal government to mobilize to demand more support from the Ministry of Defense in operations to remove people who are foreign to the territory.
The previous Saturday, three Yanomami men were shot in Uxiu, in an attack allegedly carried out by miners. One of the victims died.
On Sunday (30), at another point in the territory, teams from the Federal Highway Police and Ibama were shot at when they arrived at a gold mine. Four miners were killed by the agents.
On Monday (1st), eight bodies were found in the area. As the victims are not indigenous people, people involved in the investigation believe that the action was retaliation for the attack suffered three days earlier, when the community was having a funeral ceremony.
