How an artist's mural in South America led to Brisbane's COVID-19 arts revival

Brisbane woman Ash Taylor had only wanted to check out the murals at a hotel in Ecuador after a friend recommended she see the artwork adorning its walls.
Before long, she was painting one there herself.
"I came into the mural game differently," she said.
"I was travelling through South America last year and I could see all these intense murals. A thirst for it grew," she said.
The graphic designer travelled from the capital to a small town called Baños to see the hotel's artwork after her friend's recommendation.
"I was greeted by one of the managers who worked there after I was staring at this massive piece behind the reception," she said.
