It's nice to get a clear, unqualified "I'm sorry" instead of the standard politician "if you felt x or misunderstood me, i'm sorry".

Thank you Rachel.. just what I've been saying all day to those who come in here to insult Hillary. She didn't make excuses or try to weasel out of it. She has extraordinary class.. exactly what it takes to be Madam POTUS~ :

(4,640 posts)who is a lesbian, said that people wanting to create drama from a misstatement are being dumbasses. Like she said, consider the context of WHEN. She also thinks quite highly of the immediate apology afterwards without trying to excuse it.

The sharks just think they smell blood in the water.. but as with President Obama.. they never get to bite.

(61,588 posts)Yeaterday I was back to feeling like my life is treated as a political football. People who rarely give a thought to gay people or our issues were quick to lecture all gay people if we dared to continue supporting Hillary "after this."
I know that is how people of color are treated as well. As minorities, our issues become the football kicked around by politicians and people with other agendas.
I appreciated Hillary's apology. I appreciate the funding that Bill Clinton's administration championed for HIV research.

(4,309 posts)That is what it takes to make a great President.
All this BS about Hillary being a liar is just that. BS!
Cha
(297,029 posts)Oh yeah that was one of the insult memes that came into our Group today that had nothing to do with reality.
It's exactly what it takes to be a great President like Obama.. the class to apologize for your mistakes and
never make them worse by trying to weasel out of it.. it's not Presidential.

(1,968 posts)I didn't get all huffy-puffy from what Clinton said, but I'm certainly glad she corrected and apologized.
I feel this should be posted as well...

Aren't we supposed to be against Republicans, not Democrats?

Cha
(297,029 posts)of that. You either give an apology or you try to weasel out of it.. and Rachel knows the difference.
smh @ some of these interlopers.

The thought of someone like that as POTUS is scary.
ETA: Look up the meaning of "backpeddling". It doesn't mean what you think it means.

(6,444 posts)and stories about HRC!!
So many positives to describe her....
but nooooo! some people ignore all that and just choose to see any negative!
and try to blow it out of proportion!
Very telling! All I need to know!
with HER since 2008!!

(6,444 posts)were so incredibly!!! forgiving of the killer!! in the courtroom! even with their hearts broken, argh! even w/o his apology.
That was for me a lesson that turned around the whole narrative of the tragedy!
I appreciate Rachel's words. I hope we all can be our better selves. I think HRC is an example of trying to do that.

(297,029 posts)There's someone I have in mind who never admits any mistake so he doesn't learn from them.

Even after her time in the White House, she was an outspoken advocate for stem-cell research to find a cure for Alzheimer's. Nancy Reagan had a good heart, and she will be dearly missed."

Hillary made an error, admitted it, and apologized.
yesterday, some here threw Rachel under the bus for acknowledging Hillary's apology.
I am just surprised they didn't blame Hillary for what happened at the Trump rally yesterday, of course the day is still young

(10,014 posts)I doubt any Hillary supporter would disagree. I'm glad Hillary apologized and would hope that reasonable people think that sincere apologies are a status of good character.

Yeah, the pad we've set up under the bus is turning out really nice.
I've put in track lighting, and the gameroom is going in over there. You're welcome to use it any time you want. The Sanders people keep trying to throw out Monopoly, so keep an eye on them.

(11,574 posts)At least she straightened it out right away by acknowledging it and apologizing. We don't see that much from others...even Rachel said as much.
