Hillary Clinton
Related: About this forumHillary Clinton story
When "Living History" was released, I was living in Little Rock. Hillary came to the city on her signing tour, and I showed up at the Sam's Club and got in line. I was about 2-3 hrs back in the line, and had time to chat with several of the other people in line, a few of which claimed to know Hillary from her time in the state when Bill was governor. At the time, I was thinking "yeah, right". My plan was to get 2 books signed, for my daughters who were 5 and 1 at the time. When I got toward the front of the line, I was amazed at how many normal people in line Ms. Clinton greeted by name, and she even reminisced with a few of them. These were people that had stood in line for hours to see her, that she remembered from years earlier. It was truly amazing to watch. She greeted and thanked me, and then signed my 2 copies.
Those 2 copies are sitting on our bookshelf at home. My daughters are 18 and 13 respectively, and my dream is to have President Clinton sign those books for them these many years later, as they both love and support her as I do.
Anyway, just a little personal story of my brief interaction with Hillary Clinton.

(9,494 posts)Doesn't mean they follow her blindly like some nut following a fringe candidate. Hillary supporters are mostly life long Democrats. Many of us have campaigned for Democrats for years. We know her platform and support it.

Thinkingabout
(30,058 posts)because she cared. She started her campaign by going to meet and talk to people to find what their concerns are. She gathered information and added this to her policies. She knows about income equality, she knows about problems on Wall Street, she knows the problems with ISIS, she knows she needs to work across the lines in Congress, she knows the need for sensible gun laws, this and many more. She is the best candidate running for president, we need Hillary in the Whitehouse.

(17,055 posts)saving my copy for my only granddaughter. Her mother (my daughter) is the only one of my four kids who became a republican when she married one. Ugh!
We just never, ever, discuss politics per my request. I could never keep my big trap shut. But it breaks my heart & does not endear her husband to me much either.
