Hillary Clinton
Related: About this forumOne week from tomorrow Hillary Clinton will be the first woman presumptive nominee of a major party.
And there is nothing, not a single thing, that can be done about it by a minority who want to deny math and plain hard facts. Beliefs in non-existent conspiracy theories and wild notions of a "rigged" system will not stop the inevitable lead that she has in pledged delegates and votes.
And like a grown adult, when one loses, and loses FAIR and SQUARE, one should lose with grace and accept the verdict of the voters.
In this particular circumstance, the grace lies in moving forward to do what Bernie Sanders said he would do: "Work every day to defeat Donald Trump." Simple as that.

(9,494 posts)I believe he will just make a complete fool of himself at the convention while the entire Democratic party watches. His Child Army will also be busy making fools of themselves in the streets of Philly at the same time.
And that will be the end of it.

(1,446 posts)focus turns toward her, Sanders will drop from attention, even if he officially stays in the race. It would be very easy to give him a non-primetime slot, particularly because he has shown his failure to cooperate with party unification, so no reason to reward him with anything. But, if he drops on June 7, he might be able to negotiate a better slot. All in all, he will just remind Dems of this unpleasant primary, and I think they will be anxious to move on from that recollection.

(9,494 posts)..all over the convention with his Bourgeois Baby Revolutionaries marching around Philly to get as much attention as possible.

(1,446 posts)I'm sure we'll see plenty of folks who would rather see Trump win, than admit that Hillary beat Sanders fair and square.

(24,397 posts)Thise who have been complaining that it's too early to say Hillary is the nominee are fast running out of time to make such a claim.
You think they'd take a hint from the media narrative, which - when it comes to Sanders - is now focussed entirely on what a sore loser he is being these days, and how the party and the punditry has turned against him.

(12,448 posts)and recites the Oath of Office in January, I know I will be weeping tears of joy. I am a 60+ year old woman and I'm so glad I will finally, FINALLY see a woman taking that oath. No, I am NOT voting for her because she's a woman; her being a woman is merely the icing on the cake. The cake itself is that she is by far one of the most qualified people ever to be elected president.
