Hillary Clinton
Related: About this forumWatch out for targeting by some anti-Hillary supporters....
I have never started an "anti-Bernie" bash and trash OP, but I often reply to "anti-Hillary" OPs simply to add some balance to the insane attacks. I'm sure everyone has seen the daily posts attacking Hillary with RW memes and CTs.
Over the last couple weeks, I've been targeted. Even with links and reads that anyone could easily argue against, I get alerts no matter what the content or discussion.
The only one hidden so far is pasted below. The links that the jury didn't like were:

Bernie is in the pockets of lobbies too...you just have to look around.

REASON FOR ALERT
This post is disruptive, hurtful, rude, insensitive, over-the-top, or otherwise inappropriate.
ALERTER'S COMMENTS
Since when does the DU allow right wing blogs?
JURY RESULTS
A randomly-selected Jury of DU members completed their review of this alert at Thu Jul 23, 2015, 09:34 PM, and voted 4-3 to HIDE IT.
Juror #1 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #2 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: I don't like the look of either blog, especially the second one, but I don't think either are bad enough to justify hiding this post.
Juror #3 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: "If you submit abusive or offensive comments when serving on a jury, your eligibility to serve on juries may be revoked, and the comment which caused the loss of eligibility may be displayed publicly on your Profile page." I will reserve comment-ED
Juror #4 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #5 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #6 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: There are posts littering DU about the "used car salesman" Obama, just for starters...that all appear to be RW...if in doubt...HIDE.
Juror #7 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: Right wing is not defined by failure to worship at the cult of bernie and to suppress all information that doesn't flatter him. We already have an NSA. We don't need additional censorship of news simply because you don't like the truth. How sad to know that support for a candidate requires keeping the public ignorant.

(135,425 posts)VERY left-wing, in fact.
The alerter misrepresented the material to get the HIDE. That seems uncivil to me!
It's obvious to a cursory reader those are left wing blogs--hell, when you're talking about Jill Stein for President (Green Party) there's no doubt.
Alert on the alert post, and make a complaint about the alerter. Might not do any good immediately, but maybe if Skinner sees that the person doing the alerting is abusing the system, he will add that to his Naughty or Nice list.
I realize that everything is subjective, but those are not really RW sites...no more than the RW memes repeated about Hillary are disguised.
I don't know if Skinner is aware that people can simply lie on alerts and get away with it.

(135,425 posts)The three jurors who voted leave should do likewise, and if the HIDE jurors were tricked into voting that way because of the alerter's mischaracterization, they should express their dissastisfaction too.
It's fine to disagree, but flat-out lying about where a blog comes down on the political spectrum just to convince people to vote the wrong way is just being a crappy DUer.
It is obvious from a quick read of the blogs that they aren't anything resembling right wing, they are well to the left, but you have to actually go to them to see that--jurors often don't do much homework, they read the post and vote. Anyone reading that would make the wrong-headed assumption--since they think Bernie Sanders is "liberal" -- that anything that says otherwise is not true. In actual fact, Sanders has said he's NOT a liberal--so I don't know how that squares with their perceptions. He's apparently not liberal enough for the Greens and the Vermonters who don't like the F-35...!

(135,425 posts)All you have to do is CLICK on the top blog and this is what pops up:
The 2nd link is a guy who wrote a book about Sanders that was laudatory of his ability to work outside the 2 party system. The guy doesn't write the blog, he 'edits' it in that he brings in articles for fair use/discussion. He's far from a right winger, as well. His google page has Sanders-Eugene Debs all over it: https://plus.google.com/101721709416630516936/posts
The alerter was not honest in his or her characterization of EITHER link. The jurors should be furious.
Sancho
(9,070 posts)that way the context is clear.
I believe that some are alerting on my arguments just to see if they get lucky and hit a "pro Bernie" group of jurors. Likely they are planning ahead of time to go after anti-Bernie posters.
Late at night when the number of people online is low - it's possible to get a majority who simply don't like the message.
MADem
(135,425 posts)They don't "undo" hides, but if they're thinking about PPR'ing a disruptor, that kind of bad behavior could enter into their decision making process. They can ban people if they simply don't like 'em--that's in the TOS.
If "fairness" goes out the window, too, it's bad for their bottom line, so I think they would want to know if this kind of thing was happening regularly.
People can have opinions about a poster's intent, but to call two plainly LEFT wing sites "right wing" because they don't like what those sites are reporting about a guy is lame.

There is also another link where lobby participation has occurred.

Walk away
(9,494 posts)or Bernie Sanders drops out of the race. I stopped contributing when the virulent anti-Obama posts started stinking up the place. I knew it was only a matter of time before they became anti-Hillary posts and they would be one hundred times worse.
I feel bad about not contributing to Democratic Underground and the folks who run this site deserve my support but, why donate to something that has actually become more of an anti-Democratic Underground?
It's just sad to see Liberals attacking a Liberal candidate. Their hatred of anything moderate is amazingly naive! You may like a more progressive candidate and wish to promote them, but to want to annihilate another Democrat because they stand in your candidate's way is kind of sickening.
Sancho
(9,070 posts)I hope that will help.
There's no way my post should have been alerted on...
yallerdawg
(16,104 posts)They want to shout down and shut up Hillary supporters.
These are merely virulent rabid Hillary-haters who come from the "Someone Else" and "Anyone But" camp. They will not support Hillary ever - denying her the nomination and the presidency is the primary issue and purpose. Any candidate will do, and as long as it isn't Hillary any sin is forgiven. There is no argument.
We just have to allow the process to continue, and when the overwhelming Democratic support for Hillary eliminates those others, the haters will have no cover, and will disappear.
Then we can go back to reasonable rational intelligent honest respectful conversation.

Explanation: Right wing is not defined by failure to worship at the cult of bernie and to suppress all information that doesn't flatter him. We already have an NSA. (9,070 posts)I've never posted a "bash" OP just to go after Bernie. I'm willing to debate or post links to contrary opinions or different information, especially the repeated attacks on Hillary that are tired and old, but not substantiated. #7 got it right.
I'm sure that a group of Bernie supporters alert and hit "hide" without comment on anything they don't agree with...if the juror doesn't really look at the argument or evidence, they go along.
All you need is 4 Bernie supporters reading an anti-Hillary thread and you are hidden. It's pretty sad when people stoop to this. Of course, we don't know who does the alert or who's on the jury.
