Hillary Clinton
Related: About this forumElizabeth Warren Is On An Anti-Trump Tweetstorm. The Clinton Campaign Has Noticed.
"Twice this past week, Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) has unleashed a seemingly unprompted tweetstorm on Donald Trump, taking shots at the presumptive Republican presidential nominee for being sexist, a scam artist, reckless and embarrassing.
Dripping with disdain, the 140-character asides got under Trumps skin (admittedly, not the hardest of feats). He accused her of tweeting violently and bestowed on the senator one of his trademark churlish nicknames. Goofy Elizabeth Warren, he replied in tweets of his own.
The more important reaction came not from Trump, however, but from Hillary Clintons campaign. Multiple sources close to the former secretary of state say that her aides took note of the senators ability to rile the real estate tycoon. And they recognize the value of such dart throwing from, say, someone filling out a presidential ticket.
One close Clinton confidant said that she and her aides were thrilled to see Warren get under his skin. Another senior Clinton adviser, who is advocating internally for Warren as a vice presidential pick, said the senator has very influential people in the campaign pushing for her.
A longtime Clinton veteran said the campaign definitely noticed Warrens attacks. You want a running mate who can take the fight to the other side with relish, the veteran said. Geography does not matter, but attitude and talent and energy and bringing excitement to the campaign, Senator Warren does all that.

I don't see her as Hillary's running mate, though.. but, it's still early for that choice.

(12,448 posts)and the Tweet thing, too. Smart, savvy woman. I agree that she probably won't be a running mate for a lot of reasons, chief among them possibly losing her Senate seat; Mass. has an R governor. I think Julian Castro would be a better choice anyway.
BTW, The Peoples' View has an interesting rundown of possible VP choices:

(9,177 posts)Clinton can benefit from Warren's Wall Street reform cred and the sharpest and quickest mind we have. And maybe get more Bernie backers. And she will expose the GOP, Trump and all as the lying pigs they are.
Following her on Twitter. She shines brightly.

(1,353 posts)Washington wouldn't know what hit them if 2 brilliant women were elected as pres/vp. And Trump's nightmare: taken down by 2 women...he could lose his mind...

(32,623 posts)that the vulgarian the gop's running not only prompts, but demands to be attacked. Why don't they just go ahead and call her hysterical?

(2,074 posts)and I still think someone like Castro would be better for all kinds of reasons (young, clearly being groomed for bigger things, Latino, etc.). But part of me is warming up to the idea of Warren. It would signal a clear turn to a more progressive Dem agenda, for which the time might be right, given the Bernie phenomenon, and a 2 woman ticket might get so much under Trump's skin that he will self-implode. But it could also be risky, making this into a clearly gendered election.
But good for her for attacking Trump!

(2,792 posts)In this coming election, Democrats will need a VP candidate who is an aggressive attack dog against the opposition and who will bring progressives back to the fold. I don't see Castro filling this role. He is too young, mild, and inexperienced. This is an unusual election which will require unusual strategies.
On the other hand, I don't think Elizabeth Warren would accept the job; and she will ruthlessly pillory Republicans, whether she is the VP candidate or not. She will be on the team either way.
