They just said that more than 50% of those who voted for Sanders today will vote for Trump.
Anyone surprised? What does that say about the electability of Sanders?.

(11,619 posts)He has already said he would lower taxes on the wealthy from what they are now and seek to abolish the minimum wage.
So Sanders voters who vote for Trump want to abolish the minimum wage and lower taxes on the wealthy.
In my mind, anyone that casts that vote for Trump wants a racist, sexist, bigot as their President. If that is what they want, then they are racist, sexist bigots.
They certainly are not liberals or centrists.

(10,014 posts)Hillary did well the last time because she was running against a black man. WV is a very conservative and economically depressed state so it is little wonder that Sanders would do well there. They'd rather vote for a white man who promises to improve their lives over a woman who does the same.

In other words, they were going to vote Republican either way.

(16,104 posts)Among those voting in West Virginia's Democratic primary, about a third say they would support presumptive GOP nominee Donald Trump over either Clinton or Sanders in November's general election.

(81 posts)I am a Clinton supporter.
WV has a "semi-closed" primary, like we have here in Mass. People registered with a party affiliation can only vote in their party's primary, but "unenrolled" or "unaffiliated" voters can vote in any primary. What I think is happening is that Republican/Trump leaning unenrolled voters are voting for Sanders, trying to mess with Clinton, since Trump has already secured the nomination. I seriously doubt that true Sanders supporters are voting for Trump, that makes no sense at this point, they believe the Democratic nomination to still be competitive and voting for Trump gets them nothing. In the general election, yeah, I wouldn't be surprised to see some Sanders supporters voting for Trump.

(5,943 posts)Last fall, I was considering doing it myself here in Mass . I'm "unenrolled", though I nearly always vote Democrat. At that point in time, it looked like Clinton would walk away with Mass, so I was thinking of voting for Kasich, to take a vote away from Trump (Cruz was never in the picture here). But, as the primary drew closer, the Dem primary was looking tighter, so I voted for Clinton.

(23,875 posts)Trump is already their nominee, so they don't have to vote for him. They use their vote to screw with the Democratic election. That why open primaries suck.

The only thing they don't publicly share is office space.
Hillary will defeat both of them.
