Hillary Clinton
Related: About this forumSanders doing permanent damage to his "revolution"
I guess BS hasn't learned the tough lesson Ted Kennedy learned after losing to jimmy carter and helping Reagan win. Reagan's win ushered in a new era of wealth inequality via trickle down economics that we are still fighting to this day.
All this negative campaigning against Hillary when the primary is basically over is doing more damage to his own image and movement than anything else. His goal to use super delegates to win has, for many, shifted his image from an honest man who cares about America, to a sore loser who wants to win at all costs. Many will remember that first when recalling his bid for the White House, rather than his message.
We never learn from history, and so we shall always repeat it.

The dust bin of history is calling.

(11,639 posts)It was a myth perpetrated by Sanders himself, and since he has always been low on both the public and media radar--we all took him at his word. Now we know better. Sigh.

(15,438 posts)support for Hillary Clinton over Sanders. WE know what's at stake. WE have learned from 2000 when Republican-backed Nader entered the race with money from G.W. Bush's pals and instead of going after the Republican, he went after the Democrat - just as BS is doing now.
We also know that when the Campaigner in Chief makes his appearance, he'll defeat Trump as easily as he had back in 2008 - like a second-hand Salvation Army drum.
Any Democrat still supporting Sanders at this point is enabling his damaging of our Party. It's a stark repudiation and condemnation, but it's a truthful one. We can no longer suger-coat it. They are enabling the destruction of the Democratic Party and that only helps Republicans. They are supporters of the Republican Party, not the Democratic Party. Period.

(16,104 posts)and his supporters are Democrats.
There are Democrats who voted for him in the primary, but they will wholeheartedly support the Democratic nominee in November.
This Bernie or Bust group is not Democrats, and he didn't add any! Just a few more irrelevant leftwing independents.

(15,438 posts)The Democrats who have voted for Sanders in the past States are having buyer's remorse. They're currently supporting Hillary Clinton.
The soreloser-faction of our electorate - the very same who can't get the Green Party off the ground while having decades to do so - are still supporting Sanders despite his lack of accomplishments in his 25+ year political career (that's made him a millionaire, something he couldn't do on his own in the private sector), despite the lack of allies in the very body of gov't he needs to get this revolooshun started, despite his lack of compassion and calm temperament, despite his lack of willingness to be a statesman rather than a 'fire & brimstone' type of preacher, despite his constant attacks of President Obama, the Democratic Party, and the Clintons, and despite his refusal to unite against Republicans even now when he darn well knows he's lost.
The ONLY attraction Sanders has now is their desire to see the destruction and defeat of the Democratic Party or at least weakening it in order for a President Trump to become a reality so that, as Sarandon already said, the Revolooshun can come quicker. They haven't learned from Reagan nor Nader's part in the election G.W. Bush. They're still naive in believing the people will wake up under a Trump presidency and cry REVOLOOSHUN!
And it's all thanks to BS and his surrogates. They've single-handedly created the monster and don't know or don't care how to restrain it.

(34,525 posts)he can credibly argue that he is acting on principle now. If they were extremely different, I could believe that he was misguidedly concerned that he didn't want to give up on his agenda to help others. The evidence suggests that this is all about ego and money.
