The only thing that the President has agreed to is:

To let the Republicans destroy themselves with their own internal contradictions.

He is going to wait patiently and not getting what he wants will force a massive Republican capitulation in January.

Lawrence O had one of the DC Liberal think tank with high credentials on SS on last night. He said that the CPI adjustment that they are talking about is 1) more accurate than the current system 2) cost seniors $3 a month 3) would be acceptable if it were traded for other issues that are more important to our side, including raising the cap. They ran out of time and LO said that he would post an extended interview on the Last Word web page but I couldn't find it.

Remember LO's bromide from an earlier negotiaion: Nothing is agreed to until everything is agreed to.

For the Hair on Fire brigade in GD they are off to the races even though the track doesn't open for a couple of weeks.

Remember how their hair was on fire about the President 'selling out Elizabeth Warren'?

Turns out the President, Reid and Pelosi had a better idea. Rather than lead the buearacracy, put her on the committee that sets the policy and writes the budget.

You couldn't tell the hair burners to be patient then and they won't listen now.

The President is an exceedingly patient person and he has absolutely turned the fiscal cliff around on the Republicans (remember how everyone said at the time that he was giving away the store?)

This is going to be fun to watch.

It comes off as smugly arrogant and insulting. It had its day. Now please, just give it up. We are on the same team.

We cheer and applaud when the world class chess player takes a piece from the republicans, who are trying to play lier's checkers, but tear our hair out because we don't understand his latest move.
Forgetting entirely that the republicans only motivation is that their 1% masters will have them eat the southernmost end off a north bound night's horse if they give away so much as a pawn.

Republicans do not; can not, play an honest game. The Koch Kings, the NRA and the Queen of Wallmart will scream 'off with their heads' should they loose. The Arch Bishop Norquist will send forth the most frothing at the mouth teabagers to primary them should they compromise.

Has to be frustrating to play chess with Teapublicans, but I bet it's a bitch being that Orange Boner pawn.

of reality, where we can discuss these issues without someone jumping on and cheap shotting their undying insulting hate at President Obama.

I also remember "Obamacare" when it wasn't good enough. "It should have been single payer".. the problem is.. it wouldn't have passed and we would have nothing. Now, we have something to build on.

The President has the patience to get this right.. it's not so smooth with the "rodeo clown" Plan B-oner.

Too bad those who stayed home in 2010 "Caved" .. PBO could be planning with Nancy Pelosi now.

This is fun to watch. Obama is more intelligent than all of those Republicans put together. He won the election. He has the support of the people and he knows it. I am looking forward to the next 4 years!
