inspired every single article in google except the WH announcing she was going there. So, we have a whole bunch of lazy 'journalists', same as it ever was.

I can see KS not being thrilled about the President. After all, KS is about as red as it comes.

However, the First Lady ??? Boggles my mind.

they no longer get the fatty meals like before and have healthy meals with a reasonable serving size. Kids hate that. They are not interested in adults telling them what to do.....Teenagers are the biggest rebillers of all of us. I am not surprised by this at all.

I don't think the kids give a **** about the lunches. Their parents have told them many bad things with racist undertones or, hell, even outright racism about the Obamas.

This whole thing is BS. Would they be complaining if "First Lady Anne Romney" were coming ? Hell no.

There is not even an elected Democrat here that would actually be thought of as a Democrat in most places.

It sickens me the things that I have heard about this.

I am no fan of POTUS but FLOTUS is an awesome lady. This is an awesome way to graduate for a little RED podunk place like this.

My most sincere apologies for the words of some of the people in my city of birth and the city closest to where I now live. Tea baggers are the thing here, all the rage and we ARE the example of what happens when the Koch brothers are left to their own devices.

How many parents/relatives/friends of the graduates would be bumped. I mean, the SS doesn't typically take up seating, nor does the FLOTUS' entourage ... unless some of those parents/relatives/friends thought they'd be sitting on the stage.

Further, I'm pretty certain, if not Michelle Obama, the graduates (and their families/friends) will have/expect some commencement speaker ... I wonder who they would want that will strike the "Be interesting/Don't Out-shine the graduate" balance?

Students shouldn't have to share the attention with Ms. Obama, and seating might be limited/impacted.

It just seems like so much bullshit to cover for what I suspect they really feel.

less than six years ago.

I realize that she had married into a Republican family there (her Father-in-law was a Republican Congressman, I believe).
Still, Kansans must have known that they were electing a Democrat as their Governor.
