I need a break, you?

night owl chat – more musical flash mobs

By Liberal Librarian

It is, quite clear, that the past 48 hours have been hell. We’ve been put through the wringer. We’ve had our hearts torn out and trampled upon.

But that’s the thing about being human. Tragedies occur and you don’t see a way out. But there always is. Beauty endures. Light endures.

So, a night owl chat for those who endure.

Tchaikovsky – Waltz of the Flowers

Ravel – Bolero

“Do the Locomotion”

One I posted before, but it’s the perfect ending: Beethoven – “Ode to Joy”

************Darkness only wins when we stop searching for the light.

****************This is your uplift night owl chat.

More here~~~~

Thank you to chips at The Obama Diary
and to Liberal Librarian!

You sooth our souls!

We endure!

Okay... I had to just add this one. I love it! It speaks volumes~

Maria:
Let's start at the very beginning
A very good place to start
When you read you begin with

Child (Gretyl):
ABC

Maria:
When you sing you begin with do re mi

Children:
Do re mi

Maria:
Do re mi
The first three notes just happen to be
Do re mi

Children:
Do re mi

Maria:
Do re mi fa so la ti

Oh let's see if I can make it easier hmmm:
Doe- a deer, a female deer
Ray- a drop of golden sun
Me- a name i call myself
Far- a long long way to run
Sew- a needle pulling thread
La- a note to follow so
Tea- a drink with jam and bread
That will bring us back to do oh oh oh

Child:
Do

Maria:
A deer, a female deer

Children:
Re

Maria:
A drop of golden sun

Children:
Mi

Maria:
A name I call myself

Children:
Fa

Maria:
A long long way to run

All:
So- a needle pulling thread
La

Maria:
A note to follow so
Te

Children:
A drink with jam and bread

Maria:
That will bring us back to do

Children:
Doe- a deer, a female deer
Ray- a drop of golden sun
Me- a name i call myself
Far- a long long way to run

All:
Sew- a needle pulling thread
La- a note to follow so
Tea- a drink with jam and bread

Maria:
That will bring us back to do
Do re mi fa so la te do so do

Now children do re mi fa so and so on
Are only the tools we use to build a song
Onces you have these notes in your head
You can sing a million different tones by mixing them up
Like this: so do la fa mi do re
Can you do that

Child (Brigitta):
But it doesn't mean anything

Maria:
So we put in the words.
One word per every note.
Like this:
When you know the notes to sing
You can sing most anything

Together:

All:
When you know the notes to sing
You can sing most anything

http://www.stlyrics.com/songs/s/soundofmusic9841/doremi323510.html

We can do this if we put our notes together. It's a very good place to start.

Do the locamotion with me~ It a brand new dance.............

Everybodys doin the brand new dance now,
Come on baby, do the locomotion...
I know you'll get to like it if you give it a chance now,
Come on baby, do the locomotion...

My little baby sister can do it with ease,
It's easier than learnin your abc,
So come on, come on, do the locomotion with me...

You've gotta swing your hips now,
Come on baby, jump up, jump back...
Well I think youve got the nack,
Woah woah...

Now that you can do it, lets make a chain now,
Come on baby, do the locomotion...
A chugga, chugga, motion like a railway train now,
Come on baby, do the locomotion...

Do it nice and easy now don't loose control,
A little bit of rhythm and a lotta soul,
So come on, come on, do the locomotion with me...

Oh yeah...
Do the locomotion...
Do the locomotion...
Yay, yay, yay, yeah...

Move around the floor in a locomotion,
Come on baby, do the locomotion...
Do it holdin hands like you got the notion,
Come on baby, do the locomotion...

There's never been a dance that's so easy to do,
It even makes you happy when you're feelin blue,
So come on, come on, do the locomotion with me...

You've gotta swing your hips now
Come on baby, jump up, jump back
Well I think youve got the nack
Woah, woah

Everybodys doin the brand new dance now,
Come on baby, do the locomotion...
I know you'll get to like it if you give it a chance now,
Come on baby, do the locomotion...

Do it nice and easy now don't loose control,
A little bit of rhythm and a lotta soul,
So come on, come on, do the locomotion...
Come on, come on, do the locomotion...
Come on, come on, do the locomotion with me...

The locomotion... come on, come on,
The locomotion... come on, come on,
The locomotion... come on, come on,
The locomotion... come on, come on,
The locomotion... come on, come on,
The locomotion... come on, come on,
The locomotion... come on, come on,
Do the the locomotion with me...

... right down to the little kid climbing the lamp post. God, I love that.

Here's the words I learned from the UU hymnal, though there are others:

Joyful, joyful, we adore thee
God of glory, lord of love
Hearts unfold like flowers before thee
Opening to the sun above
Melt the clouds of sin and sadness
Drive the dark of doubt away
Giver of immortal gladness
Fill us with the light of day

All thy work with joy surround thee
Earth and heaven reflect thy rays
Stars and angels sing around thee
Center of unbroken praise
Field and forest, vale and mountain
Chanting bird and flowing fountain
Call us to rejoice in thee

Mortals, join the mighty chorus
Which the morning stars began
Father love is reigning o'er us
Brother love binds man to man
Ever singing, march we onward
Victors in the midst of strife
Joyful music leads us sunward
In the triumph song of life

Mahalo, she and for the soothing videos to ease our troubled hearts.

I just found this Vid on Kids' reactions to the Cheerio Commercial to be healing, too.

Get Together ~ The Youngbloods

Love is but a song we sing
And fear’s the way we die.
You can make the mountains ring
Or make the angels cry.
Though the bird is on the wing
And you may not know why.
C’mon people now
Smile on your brother
Everybody get together
Try to love one another right now
Some will come and some will go
And we shall surely pass.
When the one that left us here
Returns for us at last.
We are but a moment’s sunlight
Fading in the grass.
C’mon people now
Smile on your brother
Everybody get together
Try to love one another right now
If you hear the song I sing
You will understand (listen)
You hold the key to love and fear
All in your trembling hand.
Just one key unlocks them both
It’s there at your command
C'mon people now
Smile on your brother
Everybody get together
Try to love one another right now

Remember these words. Life is short:

What is life? It is the flash of a firefly in the night. It is the breath of a buffalo in the wintertime. It is the little shadow which runs across the grass and loses itself in the sunset.

~ Crowfoot, Blackfoot warrior and orator

A DU break. Which I'm considering after the last few days and a couple of particularly hateful threads. I loved this one, though. Thank you. to all my friends here.

She, would you unpin my posts at the top of the front page? They're old and I'm no longer a host. At the time I was the top person, but had to quit due to family issues. I think it's time to let the posts just go away now. Thanks.

The only kind of mob I like has the word 'flash' before it. I've seen some beautiful ones. Always uplifting.
