iPad3 charging times

What are you experiencing? Mine discharged to <5% overnight (because my iPad2 Marware case failed to turn it off!). I put it on charge with the supplied charger and it seems to be charging at less than 10% per hour. Is that your experience? Does it get faster?

the recharge is set to ultra slow.

I can't believe this performance was considered acceptable by Apple. The charging time from 20% to 100% is 4 hours, but if you drain it, and charge from a completely dead battery, it only charges at 10% an hour. This makes a complete cycle of usability 10 hours of usage + 4 to 8 additional hours. The iPad 1 and 2 took under 90 minutes to charge, making their complete cycles 11.5 hours.

It sounds like some battery reconditioning algorithm gone wrong, and may well be patched. I hope so.

My problem was thinking the iPad2 Marware CEO case was working on the iPad3. Turns out it has the wrong magnetic polarity for sleep function. I thought the iPad was off when in fact it was on overnight. Hence the fully discharged battery I found in the morning.

I ordered a new Marware with the right magnet and gave the old one to the person to whom I gave the iPad2. Right now I'm using my old Apple Smart Cover and that *seems* to be working perfectly.
