I've had this computer with Windows 10 for about 3 weeks. I really want to go back to Windows 7

Does anyone think there might be a problem with that. I am tired of having to learn new things and every time I get on this thing there is another thing that is messed up that I have to fix or plug in or download or something. Now the pictures place, which I don't understand will not let me send pictures by gmail until I put the program in or some stupid thing like that that I did not have to deal with with Windows

What we need to do is find the benefits of that change.

I am in the midst of implementing a software upgrade at work. The first thing I did was look at what's new in the software, next I reviewed what enhancements we could leverage. Next I weigh the points for and against the change. I have to deal with users who fight change so much so that they take their case to HR.

But back to Windows 10, I didn't make that change until last December, when my Vista system died. You can set it up so you don't have to use the tiles/Apps, but I would urge you to try as it will only make future change less painful.

If MS takes away 7 (much less xp), yes, we have to do something else. Myself, I'm thinking Linux.

Then 7 would have to be installed. You can't just easily go back.

This is likely something you would have to have someone do for you. Unless you are familiar with installing operating systems.

8. If you have other PCs with Win 7 you probably have at least one product key you can use

to activate a Windows 7 installation on your new PC. If you don't have an old installation disk you can download the software from MS here:

Once you download it onto an empty thumbdrive you can install it on your new PC, either on top of 10 or as a dual boot, by sticking the thumbdrive in a slot, turning on the PC, and carefully following the prompts. Back up your data first and cross your fingers. You might have to get into the BIOS commands by pushing f8 or f10 right after turning it on to get it to boot from the thumbdrive, but maybe not.

Alternatively you can keep 10 and add Classic Shell which is free and includes a 7-style start button which is very customizable and basically lets you use your PC as if you had Windows 7: http://www.classicshell.net/

10. I hit something like "restore previous versions" and I can go back to 7 but then they gave me a list

of apps that wouldn't be saved and that I'd have to download again. There were several of them. But also maybe 7 comes with some of them.

Some of your hardware may not work, because there aren't drivers for the hardware in Windows 7.

9. I'm exactly where you are at and your post and the replies have been helpful.

It doesn't make sense to me that if people want Windows 7....why don't they make them and sell them! It's the same cost. They are actually losing business and money because people like you and me nurse are computers along as long as possible when we'd be happy and willing to buy a new one!

My XP laptop still works, but I needed to install QuickBooks and the newer versions needed at least Win 7.
