Don't Upgrade to Windows 10 on July 29
Because Windows 10 is a free upgrade, the rollout will be a fiasco of epic proportions. The average consumer will want to upgrade to Windows 10 immediately because everyone is in a rush.
For Windows 10, the public will likely crash the system and prove, once again, that Microsoft cannot work the cloud properly. If you were happily running Windows 7 or 8 on Tuesday, why do you need to change to Windows 10 on Wednesday? You don't, but you'll try.
I have advised people to get the upgrade after the first bug reports. You have one year to upgrade for free. There is no rush.

(120 posts)if you look closely, win 10 is close to a subscription model, whereby Microsoft has extended control of your use of it. I didn't examine it in depth. I don't think I will actually switch over. Win 7 is about to become the new XP.

(1,005 posts)Been using TP since version 100034 and never had more than minor problems, and those were fixed in subsequent versions. 10174 is the latest I've got and it's pretty stable for me and I can hardly wait to upgrade to RTM when it comes!

(37,457 posts)criticism. Granted, I'm not crazy about the flat design look and some other design choices, but it's a stable OS with a few more minor bugs to work out. It's a good OS. It's better than Win8 and arguably as good as Windows 7.
I do understand why business and enterprise users would want to wait a while until official deployment. We home users can tolerate some show-stopper bugs and more serious bugs, business users cannot.
