...especially since now we know that the President CAN act unilaterally and do things on his own without Congress, and also that the senate DOESN'T need anything more than a simple majority to pass legislation or approve Supreme Court Justices.

It's a shame that nobody pointed this out from say 2008-2010.

Yeah, a real shame.. it kind of goes to McConnell's statement about how his decision to block Obama's nomination for SCOTUS was the most consequential of his life.
