800-year anniversary coin of Magna Carta may contain error

Story here

Students know the story of the Magna Carta. King John, at Runnymede, signed a document creating a new balance of power between the Crown and the nobles.

When the Royal Mint commissioned a two-pound coin to commemorate the Magna Carta, the image on one side apparently included an error.

From the article:

John, like other medieval monarchs, used the Great Seal to put his name to the document, making concessions to England's barons in 1215, following years of arguments over royal power.

The Royal Mint has been accused of making a "schoolboy error". Historian Marc Morris stated that medieval kings "did not authenticate documents by signing them" but "by sealing them."
