UKIP asks its own people to stop embarrassing it on social media

Story here

Note: some language at link may be NSFW.

Far-right anti-inmigration party UKIP has begged its own members not to make so many dumb statements on social media, because they're making the group look like a bunch of silly, bigoted half-wits.

From the article:
A vast number of party officials were recently tricked into following a fake UKIP Twitter account that posted homophobic views, while last month candidate David Little ignited controversy when he posted a comedy map on his Facebook page referring to people from London as ‘cosmopolitan p******s.'

In the party’s latest magazine, chairman Steve Crowther tells members: “My advice: just don’t.”

.....if UKIP are advising their supporters to avoid posting on Farcebook and Tw@tter, that just means that those sites will be filled with anti-UKIP sentiment with Kipper's unable to respond.

Mind you, I follow very few people inclined towards UKIP on social media, and I also apply the rule about unfriending anyone who shares nonsense from "Britain First" on Farcebook.

And as a UKIP related giggle, here's the latest gaffe from UKIP in Rotherham. https://twitter.com/christophe_read/status/545874164134203392

How extreme their party members want UK to be.
Oh anti UK from UKIP
Makes as much sense as the anti government tea party in US that wants to be elected to numerous government positions every election

...but even the phone number provided has typo's in it, so I can't ring them up to call the advert "political correctness gone mad".

Kent councillor is alleged to have brought the party into disrepute in yet-to-be-broadcast TV interview

Wonder what was said THIS time. And BTW, is it possible to bring UKIP into disrepute? I thought it had already arrived at that destination quite a while ago!
