Related: About this forumJim Murphy leaves the Shadow Cabinet
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-scotland-politics-29870846I'm not an expert on Scottish politics but someone tweeted that Murphy would not get the post because he has been and still is a strong supporter of the Trident nuclear missiles/V-Boats which isn't a favour of the Scottish voters.
In any case, he did an ok job Shadowing DFID. Wonder who is going to replace him.

OP
He has links to the Henry Jackson Society - that in itself should disqualify him.

(14,734 posts)1. Well...
...I think that Jim Murphy would be a disastrous choice for leader of Scottish Labour.
Jim Murphy is far too right wing, and far too much of a Westminster party machine man. The SNP would have a field day portraying Jim Murphy as a "Red Tory" careerist lacking concern or empathy for the worst off in society.

THE newly elected leader of Scottish Labour has also been named as leader of the Scottish Conservatives.
Tory chairman Grant Shapps, who appointed Jim Murphy, said that both jobs can easily be done by one man to save everyone money: Weve only got two or three Tory MPs up there, as far as I can recall, and theyre in until May at best so its not worth having our own man.
Itll be no trouble for Jim to pop across party lines and make sure theyre not getting into any trouble. If anything itll give him something to do.
